This week was all about making ZipZen not just easier for developers to publish, but also nicer for their users to consume.
Every project now gets a public release page (e.g., https://zipzen.dev/releases/zipzen/cli) where anyone can browse versions, check artifact details, verify checksums, and download files directly. Think of it as a simple, zero-config distribution site - automatically generated with each release.
The artifact cards got a refresh too. They’re clearer, more informative, and better organized than before. In fact, I liked them enough that I replaced the old authenticated UI with these new cards entirely.
Behind the scenes, artifact downloads are now served directly instead of being funneled through the app. That means less memory usage, lower latency, and snappier downloads for everyone.
Next up: polishing the UX once some real-world feedback rolls in. Also, planning to add CI/CD integration and start promoting the limited-availability OSS plan that is free to use.
